Today marks an historic event in the history and future of Westbury Christian School. At 9:45 a.m., Westbury Christian School took ownership of the property at 10402 Fondren—the future home of Wildcat Athletics. For the past 30+ years, Wildcat athletes have played on other schools’ turf or on rented turf off-site. A true home field advantage is now in our grasp! Though it will take time to fully build out the complex, 10402 Fondren—affectionately referred to as “The WAC” (Wildcat Athletic Complex—although for the right price, we’ll put yourname up on the building)—will become home to Wildcat Football, Soccer, Baseball and Softball fields as well as locker rooms, a practice gym, golf practice facilities and a wellness center for all Wildcat athletes. So now, today’s closing turns our eyes forward toward a Grand Opening!…
Save the date for February 10, 2012, when we will celebrate the launch of Phase 1 of the build-out process of the new WCS Athletic Complex and invite WCS families to a family-oriented fundraising event, which will include a meal and an auction and will join our entire school together in support of this campaign. On February 11, 2012, WCS families, alumni, friends and the surrounding community will be invited to a Grand Opening event at the newly acquired facility.
The Future WCS Athletic Complex will advance not only the future of athletics and other programs at Westbury Christian but will have great positive impact on the surrounding community as well. This presents an exciting opportunity for WCS. Because of the potential for enhancing our community, many in our community have stepped forward to help us reach Beyond the Vision and make that vision a reality. The Charlie Ward Tribute to Excellence event allowed WCS to offer those outside of the Westbury Christian family the opportunity to build on the vision for WCS and Southwest Houston through corporate sponsorships and donations.
Make plans to join us in this event that is geared just for our own WCS families.
Save the Dates for February 10 and 11, 2012!
I don’t think we’ll ever forget the day on which we closed…we had to write our names, initials, and today’s date so many times! Everything went well. The people at Stewart Title were very helpful and made our closing process quick and informative. By 9:45 AM, in just under an hour, the closing was complete. We were handed the keys to the now official, property of Westbury Christian School!
