The 2011 Charlie Ward Tribute to Excellence focuses "Beyond the Vision" moving forward to the acquisition of a much needed athletic complex.

We are excited to announce the 2011 recipient of the Charlie Ward Tribute to Excellence, NCAA Hall of Fame member, Coach Bobby Bowden. Former Houston Rockets coach Jeff Van Gundy will serve as the master of ceremonies.

Student Activities are a key component to the successful development of the whole child, and make up the 3rd dimension within the WCS approach to education. As the student body continues to grow, participation within our broad range of student activities has also seen a natural boost. For each program at WCS, we hope to offer the most effective setting, conducive to allowing our students the opportunity to reach their peak potential. Our current, landlocked location has hindered our ability to expand and adequately serve this need, until now.

Providing more opportunities for spiritual growth and enrichment within our school and community along with intense training in a disciplined and competitive environment, integrated with Christian values, and with instruction from Christian coaches, will result in the development of champions with humility, drive, and vision.

The Charlie Ward Tribute to Excellence, named after Heisman Trophy winner, former NBA player, and coach of the Westbury Christian Wildcats, recognizes individuals of distinction, commitment and faith. Known for being a man of faith and character, Coach Charlie Ward mentors and ministers to students in a way that promotes excellence in every aspect of their lives.
