High School Awards 05
(Wednesday, May 18) As the end of the school year draws near, one very exciting event is the high school awards. This year, Mr. Robert McCloy presented the Stan Engelke Award to junior Lindsey Calder for outstanding journalism. Mr. McCloy also presented the Scoppa Award to freshman Emily Harper in recognition of her motivation to be in school while fighting a life-threatening sickness.
Many other awards were presented including athletic awards, academic awards, and community service awards. Mr. Mike White presented one special award, the Pure Love Award, to senior Jillian Florence. The coveted Teacher of the Year award was given to Coach Reed Sutton. Coach Sutton was visibly touched, and he humbly accepted his award.
