Intermediate students talked like an expert about their project.

WCS Intermediate Science Fair a Success

(November 2007)The fifth and sixth grade students at Westbury Christian School presented the findings of their scientific research at the WCS Science Fair.  Fifty-three projects were displayed on poster boards in the WCS gymnasium.  Friends, family and fellow students were invited to browse and learn from the young scientists who were eager to share their experiments.

Visitors were treated to fifth grade science projects such as “What Public Places Have the Most Germs?” by Devin Sauls, “The Effect of Laundry Detergent with Bleach on Stain Removal” by Joshua Flowers, and “Air Pressure” by Avery Braun.  Sixth grade projects included “Do You Really Want to Drink that Coke?” by Cameron Lake, “Pulse Power” by Joshua Reece, and “Static Friction” by Robby Lowe.

According to Mrs. Catherine Tinkler, WCS science teacher, “Students learned and applied the scientific method to a project of their choice.”  Tinkler said the science fair was very successful as many guests showed up, and the students had the opportunity to talk like an expert about their project.
