Veteran's Day Salute by WCS Lower School
(November 2007) Westbury Christian School’s K3 to 4th grade classes will be presenting a very special Veteran’s Day Salute on Monday, November 12th at 10am. Under the direction of WCS music teacher Mrs. Cindy Fletcher, 148 students will perform several selections including “There Are Many Flags in Many Lands,” “Yankee Doodle/Yankee Doodle Dandy,” and an armed forces medley among others.
According to Mr. Casey Farris, WCS Lower School Principal, “We’d like to invite the WCS community to come see our kids perform. We’d especially like to extend an invitation to all our veterans who we would like to honor with our presentation.” Mrs. Fletcher said the Veteran’s Day Salute program was designed to honor our veterans for their service to our country. Fletcher said different sections of the program celebrate our country, our national symbols including our flag, and most importantly, our veterans.
The event will be held in the Westbury Church of Christ auditorium just adjacent to WCS. Mrs. Fletcher said the Veteran’s Day Salute is approximately a half hour program. The grand finale will be “God Bless the USA” featuring a solo part by ninth grader Kendall Ferguson who is currently performing with the Houston production company Theatre Under the Stars.
Mr. Casey Farris said veterans are welcome to call ahead to reserve a seat for the program. Admission is free.
