WCS Annual Patriotic Program Celebrates Veterans
(November 2008) Westbury Christian School’s K3 to 4th grade classes will host their annual Patriot Program this Thursday, November 6th at 7pm. Students will be honoring service men and women from WCS families with musical selections performed under the direction of Mrs. Cindy Fletcher, WCS music teacher. Added to the program this year are songs by the Middle School Chorus made up of 6th through 8th grade students.
The program is open to the community with a special invitation to all veterans whom the students wish to honor with their presentation. Mr. Casey Farris, WCS Lower School Principal, states that “this is an opportunity to educate our students on the important role veterans play in the United States. We want our students to understand what these men and women have done for each of us as citizens. By honoring WCS family members and members of our community, students are able to have a direct connection to the people who are responsible for the freedoms that we have today.”
The event will be held in the Westbury Church of Christ auditorium just adjacent to WCS at 10420 Hillcroft Avenue. The Patriotic Program is approximately forty-five minutes in length and admission is free.
