Friday night, Westbury Christian School hosted the WAC Campaign Kick-Off event at the WAC for all WCS families. The event was a huge success!
We had a greater response than we could have hoped for with nearly 300 people turning out for the event! Many WCS families were getting their very first look at the property and were able to take a tour around and see some of the plans for what is to come over the next three years. As parents and students toured the complex, surely many were thinking ahead to what it will be like to practice, train, compete and cheer on the Wildcats on our very own home turf.
WCS families, students, faculty, staff and friends donated over 50 items to be part of the silent auction that provided the evening’s entertainment. The bidding got lively when Middle School Principal Casey Farris and WCS dad John Swasey took to the microphones and stirred up some extra excitement by reporting on the items around the gym. The hottest items of the night ended up being a football autographed by 22 Heisman Trophy winners (WOW!!), Middle School Principal of the Day, and 1st Grade’s handprint quilt. Although it wasn’t the item receiving the largest winning bid of the evening, the bidding got fierce over the Taste of Wild Texas Freezer Filler (20+ pounds of wild game sausage, burgers, filets, etc. donated by WCS dad, avid hunter and soccer enthusiast Michael Ganchan). At the end of the evening, approximately $6000 was raised for the WAC Beyond the Vision campaign. More importantly, we were able to share the vision and the plans for the Wildcat Athletic Complex with our families.
The buzz has started and hundreds of Wildcats are excited to see where God takes us!
