Class rank is based on the weighted cumulative numeric average. Pre-AP classes receive a 5 point increase and AP classes receive a 10 point increase figured into the cumulative numeric average, but these points are not reflected by the actual grade on the transcript.

Upon request, an unweighted GPA can be provided on a traditional four point scale.

A — 90-100
B — 80-89
C — 75-79
D — 70-74
F
— 0-69

Spiritual Life

Westbury Christian School students attend Bible classes daily. The Bible curriculum is a non-denominational, text-based study, and Bible teachers emphasize the inspired Word of God. Entering freshmen will have studied every book in the Bible prior to graduation.

WCS students attend chapel two days a week. Chapel is a time for reflection on God’s word and understanding how to build a personal relationship with Him. The chapel period consists of various activities, such as devotional readings, prayer, a cappella singing, skits, special presentations, and guest speakers.

Student Activities

High school students are required to participate in at least one extra-curricular activity per year. WCS is a member of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS), which offers competition in academics, band, drama, art and athletic events. Athletic competition at the varsity level includes: golf, baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cross-country, football, soccer, softball, tennis, track, and volleyball. Students compete annually in local events for fine arts, including the TAPPS District and Regional competition as well as the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
