A Full School Day, Not a Half Measure
Most preschools end just after lunch. Ours is built around a real school day — with care on both ends for even the busiest families, five days a week.
7:00 – 8:30 AM
Early drop-off at no extra cost, so your morning works on your schedule.
8:30 AM – 3:15 PM
Bible, Frog Street learning, enrichment classes, recess, and rest — a full day of growing.
Until 6:00 PM
After-care and enrichment options carry the day through to pick-up time.
Full-day program, five days a week, for children who are 3 (PreK3) or 4 (PreK4) by September 1 and fully potty-trained.
A Curriculum With a Purpose
Preschool at Westbury Christian isn’t supervised play with a schedule attached. Our teachers use the Frog Street program and hands-on, age-appropriate strategies to personalize learning — helping each child build confidence, foster creativity, and discover the joy of learning.
Every day develops the whole child across five areas, so your son or daughter walks into kindergarten already knowing how school works.
CURRICULUM
Bible and Spiritual Life
Preschool students will grow closer to God through daily Bible lessons, Chapel and House Group activities. Each day, teachers and students join in prayer, singing, and praising God. Students will learn about major Old Testament and New Testament Bible stories and characters, with a focus on Jesus and His life and teachings. The teaching of Christian values and character – such as love, compassion and kindness is at the core of each Bible lesson and interwoven throughout the preschool curriculum. Preschool students participate in Lower School Chapel and House Meetings each week. They also join K-12th grade students in All School Chapel several times throughout the year.
Verbal and Linguistics
The Frog Street program develops verbal, written and cognitive skills. Students are introduced to letters and sounds, understanding opposites, rhyming skills and building vocabulary through group activities and dramatic play.
Gross and Fine Motor Skills
Students are taught the use of scissors, holding pencils or crayons properly, writing first and last names, running, jumping, skipping, galloping and climbing.
Social and Interpersonal Relationships
Listening skills, taking turns, following directions, task completion, and solving problems with words are skills your child will learn in the classroom. Children will also learn about God’s love and how to be accepted by others for their individuality.
Logic and Mathematics
Students will participate in fun hands-on activities that promote early number sense. They will become aware of shapes and patterns and start realizing that geometric shapes are part of everyday objects. Students will also have opportunities to learn about sorting, patterning, spatial relationships, rote and rational counting, ordinal numbers and sequencing, and measurement comparisons.
Taught by Specialists, Not Just Supervisors
Beyond their classroom, preschoolers attend daily enrichment classes led by teachers who specialize in their subject.
Physical Education
Movement and organized play that build motor skills, fitness, and sportsmanship.
Music
Musical games, songs, steady beat, and rhythm sticks — with a performance at least once a year.
Art
Creating and experimenting with materials in new ways to explore creativity.
Spanish
Vocabulary introduced through interactive games, songs, stories, and dialogue practice.
Library
A weekly visit with the librarian — Bible stories, fairy tales, nursery rhymes, and browsing time.
Technology
A developmentally appropriate introduction beginning with small tablets, with usage carefully monitored.

What are the age requirements for PreK3 and PreK4?
Children must be three (PreK3) or four (PreK4) by September 1 of the school year, and fully potty-trained to start school.
What are the preschool hours?
The full-day program runs 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., five days a week, with complimentary before-school care from 7:00 a.m. and after-school care available until 6:00 p.m.
What curriculum do you use?
Our PreK3 and PreK4 classrooms use the Frog Street program, which develops verbal, written, and cognitive skills, alongside hands-on math, motor skill development, daily Bible lessons, and enrichment classes in music, art, PE, Spanish, library, and technology.
What happens after preschool?
Your child continues right here. Westbury Christian serves students from PreK3 through 12th grade on one campus, so the friendships and foundation built in preschool carry all the way to graduation.
