Building Musical Foundations

  • Students attend music class twice a week from K3 through 4th grade.

  • Curriculum includes:

    • Singing, clapping rhythms, and movement to music.

    • Playing simple percussion and Orff instruments (egg shakers, rhythm sticks, xylophones).

    • Learning core concepts like beat, rhythm, melody, and pitch.

    • Exposure to diverse musical styles and cultures.

  • Goals: nurture creativity, sharpen listening skills, build performance readiness, and develop a lifelong love of music.

Seasonal Performances

  • Fall: Christmas program each December.

  • Spring:

    • Grandparents’ Breakfast (February):

      • Annual tradition celebrating family and heritage.

      • Children perform songs for their grandparents during a festive breakfast event.

      • Builds pride, confidence, and connection across generations.

    • Fine Arts Night (May):

      • End-of-year showcase of student growth.

      • Features singing, instrument ensembles, and creative displays.

      • Celebrates accomplishments with the entire school community.
