Student Life
Shaping Leaders Through Faith, Service, and Community
Service is central to the Westbury Christian experience. From volunteering with local organizations like the Houston Food Bank to lending a hand at church and school events, students are encouraged to live out their faith by serving others. By the time they graduate, our students have invested hundreds of hours into their communities, building habits of compassion and leadership that last a lifetime.
Beyond service, students also grow through a wide variety of clubs, honor societies, and organizations that celebrate their God-given talents and interests. Whether through the National Honor Society, fine arts honor societies, the International Thespian Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, or student-led groups, Westbury Christian provides opportunities for students to explore their passions, sharpen their leadership skills, and contribute positively to the school and community.
At Westbury Christian, student life is about more than activities—it’s about shaping young men and women who will make a difference in the world through their faith, service, and commitment to excellence.

Honor Societies
Membership into a National Honor Society is one of the highest honors that can be awarded to a student. Westbury Christian School hosts chapters in the National Honor Society, the National Junior Honor Society, and is a charter member of the newly formed National Elementary Honor Society. These groups bring the accomplishments of outstanding students to the attention of parents, teachers, peers, and communities.
Similar to the Westbury Christian three-dimensional approach, these national honor societies strives to recognize the total student – the one who excels in all these areas. The standards used for selection are:
Scholarship – Demonstrated by maintaining a specified overall grade point average
Character – Demonstrated by behavior inside and outside of the classroom
Leadership and Service – Demonstrated by activities on and off campus

“Through very rigorous and tedious work, and also tons of support, I can experience the challenges that prepare me for the real world. I am very grateful to be a student here at Westbury Christian. It has helped me grow as a person.”
E. Williams
“WCS is a hidden gem that offers a college preparatory scholastics program in a loving Christian environment. The teaching staff go above and beyond to challenge each of my kids, at an individualized level, to ensure that they exceed their potential.”
E. Hopkins
“I have gone to school here since 8th grade, and it is a wonderful place if you want to feel a closer connection to God. It’s such a safe environment to learn in, and the teachers are always more than willing to help the students whenever needed.”

Kingdom Builders
At Westbury Christian, faith in Jesus is the foundation of everything we do. Spiritual growth is woven throughout all programs from academics and athletics to fine arts, clubs, and organizations. We aren’t merely a school focused on preparing students for college. We’re equipping students to become people of influence, future leaders, and kingdom builders.
The learning experience at Westbury Christian is enhanced with an environment dictated by Christian principles. Bible is taught every day and chapel is an integral part of school life. All academic classes, social and athletic activities, as well as spontaneous events, are conducted with Christian perspectives in mind.

Community Service
One of the greatest joys of Christian life is serving others. We strive to help our students develop a heart for service before they leave Westbury Christian. Prior to graduation, students must complete a minimum of 20 hours of community service for every year they attend high school at Westbury Christian.
A wide variety of service opportunities are available to our students throughout the school year including the following:
- Volunteering with your church
- Volunteering at a service project in your neighborhood
- Volunteering at the Houston Food Bank
- Volunteering at school events
