A Season of Reflection and Renewal at Westbury Christian School

As the calendar turns to a new year, I want to pause and say thank you. Your partnership with Westbury Christian School and the trust you placed in us to educate and disciple your child is a profound blessing. The investment you make in your child’s future, for both today and eternity, is not something we take lightly.

With a fifth consecutive year of enrollment growth ahead of us, it is clear that our mission is resonating in the community. Families are seeking an education rooted in knowledge and guided by faith, and we are grateful that Westbury Christian continues to be a place where that desire is fulfilled. Parent satisfaction surveys consistently affirm what we strive for each day: strong biblical values and appropriately challenging academics. Knowing that the qualities you value most are being experienced by your children daily is both encouraging and humbling.

I am deeply proud of the impact we have witnessed together this past year.

Cultivating Academic and Spiritual Growth for Flourishing

The central promise of Westbury Christian School is simple but powerful: to provide an education rooted in knowledge and guided by faith, where each child is truly known, seen, and supported. Looking back over the past year, several moments stand out as reminders of how that promise comes to life.

  • A Legacy of Strong Relationships: This spring, we celebrated WCS’s 50th anniversary—a milestone that highlighted the deep relationships that have defined our community for generations. The anniversary weekend brought together alumni, current families, staff, and supporters who volunteered, served, and shared stories of how God has worked through this school for half a century. It was a beautiful reminder that Westbury Christian has always been, and continues to be, a community built on meaningful relationships.

  • Individualized Growth: With intentionally small class sizes and a 9:1 student-educator ratio, our teachers are able to know and challenge students personally. We see the impact of this every day. One example is in our middle school English classes, where Ms. Frank has reignited students’ love for literature and writing. One parent recently shared: “Ms. Frank has made our daughter fall back in love with writing. It is rare to find a teacher a child wants to have twice in a day. We have that in Ms. Frank. We are grateful for her.” When a child is truly known, their potential is limitless. We are blessed with faculty who invest deeply in the lives of their students.

  • Spiritual Transformation: Our ultimate hope is to provide the “soil” where eternal decisions can take root. Recently, we celebrated with humility and joy as a student made the life-changing decision to give his life to Christ. This is the eternal impact of Christian education—creating a space where Truth is pursued and hearts are transformed. From preschool through 12th grade, we see students growing daily in their understanding of God and their love for Jesus.

  • A Caring, Christ-Centered Community: The WCS community continues to reflect the beauty of the Kingdom—faithful, wise, and diverse. Through programs like our Lower School House system, every student experiences belonging, mentorship, and connection across grade levels. Our students also live out their faith through service. Over the past year, they have participated in more than a dozen community service projects across Houston. Even our youngest preschool students engage in structured service opportunities, learning early to let their light shine for God’s glory. Whether building resilience on the athletic field, expressing creativity in the fine arts, or serving others in the community, our students are being shaped into courageous servant-leaders.

Investing in Excellence: Looking Ahead

Our mission is to cultivate the academic and spiritual growth of each student so they can thrive in a constantly evolving world. We want our students to become lifelong learners and devoted servants of Christ—young people who understand their God-given gifts and begin to see how those gifts can be used for His glory. To continue delivering on that promise, our strategic focus for the year ahead includes several key priorities:

  • Enhancing Hands-On Learning: We're making a significant investment in experiential, hands-on learning across all disciplines. Our rigorous academic pathways—including Honors, AP, and Dual Credit—will continue to be strengthened with engaging, real-world application. More importantly, we remain committed to authentically integrating a Christ-centered, Kingdom-focused perspective into every area of learning. Through our adoption of the Teaching for Transformation framework, our faculty are growing professionally, listening more intentionally to student feedback, and fostering deeper ownership of learning. In the coming year, several teachers will lead this initiative more fully in their classrooms. We look forward to hearing students articulate their “Deep Hope” and seeing how their learning begins to impact the world around them in meaningful ways.

  • Sustaining Faculty Excellence: Our teachers are our greatest asset. Your child’s daily experience is shaped by the quality, character, and calling of the Christian educators who guide them. We remain committed to investing in the professional growth and long-term retention of our faculty because investing in teachers is investing directly in students.

  • A Vibrant Student Life: As our school continues to grow, so do opportunities for students. This fall, we are excited for the return of 11-man football, bringing renewed energy to our athletics program and Friday night community life. We are also developing special retreats for sophomores and juniors, expanding opportunities in music and theater, and launching league play and after-school sports for our Lower School students. In the fine arts, initiatives such as the National Elementary Art Honor Society are creating meaningful opportunities for students to blend creativity with service. Across all programs, our goal is to offer a well-rounded, enriching student experience that supports both growth and joy.

A Partnership for Purpose

We believe that providing a Christ-centered, purpose-driven education is one of the most significant investments a family can make. The successes we celebrate today—and the growth we look forward to tomorrow—are only possible because of your trust, involvement, and partnership.

We are deeply grateful for the way our parents show up: volunteering, chaperoning, participating in parent organizations, attending workshops, and engaging in the life of the school. Your involvement strengthens our community and enriches your child’s experience.

We are also thankful for your generous philanthropic support. Gifts to our Annual Fund directly enhance the daily experience of our students and help us pursue excellence in every area of the school. Your investment truly makes a difference.

Thank you for being an essential part of the Westbury Christian School community. We look forward with gratitude and anticipation to another year of cultivating faith, wisdom, and purpose together.
