The Westbury Christian band program focuses on the development of the individual student musician in preparation for participation and beyond. Students will learn basic music reading, instrument technique and ensemble skills required for successful participation. The band performs an annual Christmas concert and spring concert as well as occasional chapels.

Band Opportunities
Band is required for 5h and 6th grade students
7th and 8th grade students have the opportunity to take band as a fine arts elective course, which includes two concerts each school year.
Students can play in and tour with the Big Blue football band, the pep band and the drum line, which plays at home basketball games in the McCloy Gym. There are also several opportunities to participate in community outreach and recruiting performances off campus during the school year.
NOTE: Although the focus is on band instead of orchestra, we welcome experienced strings players to join as well.
Competitions
Students participate in an on-campus Solo and Ensemble Competition in the spring, with all students receiving a high score of 1 moving on to the Solo and Ensemble Recital at the end of the year.
Students regularly attend and earn spots in regional and state band competitions.
High school students who meet the requirements are eligible for induction into the Tri M Music Honor Society.
