From Feedback to Action: How Parent Surveys Make an Impact

At Westbury Christian, we believe that strong partnerships between school and home are essential to student growth. One of the most important ways we strengthen that partnership is by listening carefully to your feedback—and then using it to inform real action.

Many of you recently participated in a parent survey, and we are grateful for the time and thought you invested. We’d like to share why we use this survey process and how your responses truly make a difference.

Why We Changed Our Survey Approach

In the past, we relied on a single annual survey administered in the spring. While that provided valuable insight, it also presented challenges. By the time we reviewed the results, the school year was nearly over, making it difficult to:

  • Respond meaningfully to concerns
  • Communicate progress back to families
  • Ask follow-up questions
  • Gain helpful comparisons with similar schools

We knew we needed a better way to listen—and respond—throughout the year.

Enter ParentPulse: Real-Time Feedback That Matters

Today, we use the ParentPulse survey platform, which “drips” short surveys to families across three cycles: fall, winter, and spring. This allows us to gather feedback as the school year unfolds. Here’s what makes this approach so valuable:

  • Real-time insight: We receive feedback quickly, allowing us to make timely adjustments when needed.
  • Ongoing dialogue: We can respond to feedback through the platform and even engage families who choose to remain anonymous.
  • Stronger perspective: We receive comparative data from other Christian schools in our peer group, helping us better understand our strengths and growth areas.
  • More meaningful data: Some baseline questions remain consistent across all cycles, while others change to reflect what’s most relevant at that point in the year.

What Happens to Your Feedback?

Your responses do not disappear into a report—they are actively reviewed and used.

  • We monitor trends and comments closely.
  • Comments are shared with relevant administrators for awareness and action.
  • Positive feedback and “shout outs” are shared directly with teachers, which is always a tremendous encouragement.
  • When appropriate, an administrator may reach out for additional details to better understand an issue.
  • We also respond through the platform, sometimes asking follow-up questions to clarify or learn more.

In addition, we can analyze responses by grade level and other demographic indicators (based on how surveys are completed). This helps us identify patterns within specific divisions or grades so we can respond thoughtfully and strategically.

From Insight to Improvement

One of the greatest benefits of this survey process is its timeliness. Some feedback leads to immediate adjustments, while other insights inform longer-term planning and school improvement efforts. In both cases, your voice plays a vital role in shaping the experience we provide for students and families.

Thank You for Partnering With Us

We want you to know that your feedback is valued, read, discussed, and used. Your willingness to share honestly helps us grow stronger as a school community and better serve every WCS student.

Thank you for walking alongside us, engaging in the process, and helping Westbury Christian School continue to thrive.
