In our second installment of The Voices of Westbury, we’re delighted to feature someone whose Wildcat journey has truly come full circle—Mrs. Kayla Garcia, Kindergarten Teacher at Westbury Christian School.
Mrs. Garcia’s story with WCS started long before she stepped into the classroom as a teacher. As a proud WCS graduate, she knows firsthand the impact of a Christ-centered education and the difference a loving community can make. Today, she brings that same spirit of care and encouragement to her own classroom, shaping the next generation of Wildcats right where her own story began.
For Mrs. Garcia, teaching kindergarten is more than just introducing students to letters, numbers, and new routines—it’s about building confidence and joy in learning from the very start. “It makes my day when a student tells me, ‘I had a great day in kindergarten!’” she shares.
Her goal each day is to model love and joy in every situation, creating an environment where students feel valued, supported, and excited to come to school. Whether celebrating small victories or guiding students through challenges, Mrs. Garcia leads with patience and purpose, reflecting the heart of WCS.
The connection to Westbury Christian runs even deeper for Mrs. Garcia and her family. Her own daughters now attend WCS, continuing the legacy that began with her. She and her husband chose WCS because they see how the school nurtures the whole child—spiritually and academically. “We love that WCS not only provides strong academics but also instills Christian values,” she explains.
From former student to beloved teacher—and now a WCS parent—Mrs. Garcia embodies what makes Westbury Christian School special: a community where relationships grow deep, faith shines bright, and learning is filled with joy.
Stay tuned for more stories in The Voices of Westbury as we continue to celebrate the people who make our school special.
