Senior Spotlight: Rika Bhosale and Jack Groschl

It’s a pleasure to recognize two more WCS students in our Senior Spotlight this week. Each of them has grown in their own way while contributing to the life and culture of WCS. We’re excited to honor their stories and the paths they’re preparing to pursue.

Introducing Rika Bhosale

Rika Bhosale’s time at Westbury Christian School has been a journey of growth, discovery, and stepping outside of her comfort zone. Her experience in Economics class led Rika to pursue a degree in business, and she plans to attend college on the West Coast.

Along her WCS journey, Rika found consistent support in Mrs. Banks. She made a lasting impact by regularly checking on Rika and ensuring she had what she needed to succeed. That encouragement helped Rika grow in both confidence and responsibility, especially as she began taking pride in staying on top of her work and meeting deadlines.

Rika’s time at WCS also shaped her spiritually. Chapel experiences, especially those led by Mr. Bilnoski, challenged her to think more deeply and engage with her faith in a meaningful way. Guided by Matthew 5:44, she encourages younger students to stay rooted in Scripture, recognizing it as a steady source of wisdom and direction.

Beyond the classroom, Rika was actively involved in varsity volleyball, soccer, and track. These experiences pushed her to be more social, try new things, and build lasting relationships. One of her favorite memories comes from volleyball season, traveling to away games, and sharing those moments with her teammates.

Reflecting on her time at WCS, Rika describes her experience as “challenging, spiritual, and renewing.” She hopes her example helps other students grow beyond their comfort zones and embrace new opportunities. As she steps into this next chapter, she is excited to continue growing, learning, and discovering more about herself, while staying connected to WCS through future alumni events.

Meet Jack Groschl

Jack Groschl’s years at Westbury Christian School began in sixth grade and have been filled with meaningful relationships, personal growth, and memorable experiences. After graduation, he plans to attend the University of Houston to pursue his passion for the arts.

Algebra II was his favorite class because Mr. Echols made learning fun. He also made a lasting impact as Jack’s mentor, offering guidance and support that extended beyond academics. Jack’s hard work paid off in moments like earning a strong final grade in Honors Pre-Calculus, a milestone he’s especially proud of.

Throughout his time at WCS, Jack’s faith has been shaped by hearing different perspectives on familiar biblical stories, helping him deepen his understanding. Chapel experiences, including one led by Levi Ward, left a lasting impression. Guided by Psalm 30:1, Jack learned the value of listening and growing through the insights of others.

Jack’s involvement in varsity soccer taught him important life lessons, especially the value of perseverance and learning through challenges. He also discovered a talent for playing the guitar, adding another layer to his creative expression. Some of his favorite memories include catching a fish at freshman retreat and the camaraderie of a band trip with friends.

Describing his time at WCS as “sleepy, fun, and musical,” Jack reflects on a community where “everyone knows everyone,” creating a strong sense of belonging. He hopes to leave behind a legacy of making the most of every situation while staying true to himself.

As he looks ahead, Jack is excited for what’s next, especially a new rhythm of life, and plans to stay connected to WCS by returning for events like the homecoming football game.

These students have made their mark on WCS through the ways they've led, supported others, and grown in both character and faith. As they step into what’s next, we celebrate all they’ve accomplished and look forward to hearing about their future accomplishments.
