At Westbury Christian School, worship is expressed through action, service, and a genuine love for others. This spring, our students exemplified their faith in remarkable ways, demonstrating what it truly means to be the hands and feet of Jesus. From mission trips to community outreach projects, Westbury worships through service, and the impact has been both profound and far-reaching.
Spring Break Mission Trip—High School Students in Action
Over Spring Break, 20 of our high school students traveled to New Iberia, Louisiana, to partner with the New Iberia Church of Christ for their Model City Mission. This incredible outreach program seeks to serve and uplift the local community, and our students stepped right into that mission.
Throughout the weekend, students painted two homes, bonded with each other and church members over delicious local meals, and gathered each night for powerful devotionals. The evenings didn’t end there—some students even initiated additional Bible studies on their own, a beautiful display of their growing faith and commitment. While there was plenty of fun and memory-making, the true heart of the trip was about selflessness—doing something bigger than themselves to further God’s Kingdom.
3rd Grade Project HUG—Serving from the Heart
Our youngest leaders showed that age is no limit when it comes to serving others. As part of Project HUG, our 3rd graders held a food drive and spent a day volunteering at the Houston Food Bank. There, they bagged, sealed, and boxed 6 pallets of rice—enough to provide over 6,400 meals to families in need!
Adding a special touch to their service, the students also unveiled water bottles they designed themselves—an expression of creativity, care, and community. Our third graders made a lasting difference through every scoop of rice and every smile shared.
Sophomore/Junior Serve Day—Compassion in Action
On March 31st, our sophomore and junior classes spent the day at Impact Houston Church of Christ, working with their homeless ministry. Students rolled up their sleeves and got to work—organizing supplies, cleaning facilities, preparing and serving meals, and sorting clothing donations.
They also poured their hearts into creating Easter cards for the children’s ministry, ensuring that every detail was filled with love and encouragement. It was a day of compassion in action and a beautiful reminder of the impact young people can have when they serve with purpose.

At WCS, we believe that true worship is a lifestyle. These moments of service are more than just events—they are acts of worship that express the love and teachings of Christ. Whether it is painting a house, packing food, or writing cards, our students are learning to worship God with their words, hands, and hearts.
